Greetings and happy late summer, Miller’s Run School families and community!

While I hope you all have had a great vacation from school, your teachers have been busy gearing up for the new year. Some have been preparing for the new math program, Bridges, while others have been digging into the writing curriculum; still others have been traveling and will have great pictures and stories to tell.

As a kick-ff, we have our traditional Welcome Back, Dragons! barbecue on Tuesday, August 22nd at 5:30. Besides food and friends, we will also have some updates on school news and introduce new staff. We hope you can make it!

Speaking of new staff, we have Mr. Kent Hall and Ms Cheri Weber on board as our new custodial team. They've been hard at work, getting everything ready for the new year. Fortunately, Mr. Jason Degreenia and Ms Miranda Martin left the building in beautiful shape, so Mr. Hall and Ms Weber have been able to tackle some extra projects on the list.

As a reminder, school starts for students on Tuesday, August 29th at 8 AM. Breakfast is available before that time in the cafeteria. We will have a new ending time this year...students will be dismissed at 2:55 PM. That extra 10 minutes will allow a reflective, less rushed ending to the day--or at least that's the plan!

We have some new teachers and other staff, too, that I'm sure you'll meet at Welcome Back, Dragons! or during the first days of school.

Looking forward to another great year!

Mr. Ham
