Hello Miller's Run Families,

Session IV of the Afterschool Program is underway.  Our enrichment offerings are described below.  Please check out the links to the Session IV Enrichment Calendar and to information about a special CLIF (Children's Literacy Foundation)  event for K-4 students and their families featuring Natalie Kinsey-Warnock that is happening on March 23rd.

SEEDS HAVE NEEDS:  What’s the best way to learn how a seed grows into a plant?  Plant some seeds and observe what happens.  Maddie, from Northwoods, will be back to take us through the steps – from seed to sprout to plant!

LI DANCE:  Two more rehearsals at LI, then the big performance on April 4th.  Mark your calendars and invite your family and friends.

FRENCH:  Madame Dionisio will be back to finish up our explorations into colors and culture – “en francais”!

SPECIAL PROJECT:  Shhh – it’s a secret, but involves making something special for some special people!

GET FIT:  K-2 students will join Mrs. Matthewson in the gym for energizing SPARK games; 3-4 girls will be with middle school girls for GIRLS ON THE RUN; 3-4 boys will work out with the middle school boys and Mr. Norway.

KINGDOM STORIES:  Our famous local author, Natalie Kinsey-Warnock, has written many stories about the Northeast Kingdom.  We’ll be reading some of those stories and welcoming Natalie Kinsey-Warnock herself to a special event on March 23rd!

CHOICE:  Work on the afterschool yearbook or newsletter, update the afterschool bulletin board, create a children’s book, play a board game, help out with the window shade project—the choice is yours!

STRATEGIC GAMES:  Plot your course, plan your moves, learn to think strategically.  Miss B & Miss C will have games to challenge your brain.

GET FIT:  Get your body moving and your heart pumping.  Learn how to feel strong and healthy for life!  For 3rd – 8th grade girls it’s GIRLS ON THE RUN; for 3rd – 8th grade boys it’s BOYS ON THE MOVE.

ZENTANGLE:  An art enrichment like none we’ve ever done.  Nancy Croteau (a former Miller’s Run principal) will teach you the art of Zentangle.   Student will have a  personal art kit and learn simple strokes, shapes, and patterns to create their own unique designs.
